Rocking horse hair for sale

These horse tails are cured, washed, disinfected and ready for use. They need cutting up into pieces to make a mane, forelock and tail for a rocking horse and they come with full instructions for fitting. Hair sets also have fixings for wooden horses.

Unless you want extra long hair ( the sort which comes down to the ground and looks silly ), a large whole tail will provide enough hair for a rocking horse up to about 48" high.
Tails have shorter hair at the top and they come in various lengths and thicknesses - ask for what you need.

If you prefer it, I can cut out a hair set, ie a mane, forelock and tail cut out to your measurements. Most colours are available.

For black and chestnut hair, a set for a small horse ( mane base up to 9") is £45, medium ( mane base up to 12") is £60, large ( mane base up to 15") is £80 and for extra large ( mane base up to 18") is £100.
For other colours, add £20 for a small set, add £30 for a medium set, add £35 for a large set and and add £55 for an extra large set.
The mane base length is measured from the top of the head ( under the headpiece of the bridle ) down the neck to about 2/3 of the way to the back. You can have the mane going further down the neck but it gets in the way of the saddle. The forelock base length is not included in the mane base length- it is a separate piece. This length is generally taken from under the bridle head piece, forwards between the ears and extending down to just above the browband.
Note that for large and extra large manes, the mane may be in two pieces.

Post and packing is £8 for small and medium sets and £10 for large and extra large sets. They are sent special delivery and are insured.
