Marshall - Ragamuffin

Marshall - Ragamuffin

An unusual fibre glass horse. These horses were made by Ragamuffin ( Guernsey ) in the 1970s and as far as I know they were all painted grey with black patches. Later the horses were produced from Brentwood (Essex) still under the Ragamuffin brand but I don't know if it was the same owners. These later horses were finished in some diffrent colours - like Marshall.

The horse is fixed to metal coils and is based on a design patented by Crandall in 1862. It bobs up and down rather than rocking back and forward like most rocking horses.

Marshall seems in good condition but he needs new hair and the handles through the neck are missing. It might be easier just to block up the holes. One spindle at the back end of the frame is missing.
