These small Stred horses were made in Czechoslovakia after the war and this one probably dates from the 1970s.
They are simply made - wooden legs and head and a very basic wooden frame for the body and neck. The horse is formed by
making a hessian body shape and stuffing it with wood shavings or similar. It is then painted.
Polo leans to one side and could do with new paint, new hair and tack repair. A realatively easy and fun restoration. He will
never be an Ayres but could be an attractive toy.
