One ear has a broken slice and the piece has been glued back, there are about 6 old woodworm holes in one of the cross pieces (which has been
now been treated as a precaution). The stand is firm.
I don't know if there is any original paint under the overpaint.
He is by Ayres from around the 1920s - 30s.
